Radical Timer is an iOS application developed and maintained by Andrii Lytovchenko, an independent designer & developer based in Ukraine.

What Data We Collec
Radical Timer does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
More specifically, the app does NOT collect:
Your name, email address, or any contact information
Your location or GPS data
Your usage habits, session history, or behavioral data
Device identifiers or advertising IDs
Any data from your camera, microphone, or contacts
What We Store and Where
Radical Timer stores a small amount of data to provide its core functionality. No data is ever shared with third parties or used for advertising.
Stored in iCloud (synced across your devices):
Timer history – the durations of your last 10 focus sessions, used for quick-start presets
Karma points – your current karma score (0–10)
App settings – your preferences such as theme, language, grace period, and parental control settings
Trial start date – to track your 7-day free trial period
This data is stored in Apple's iCloud Key-Value Storage and is associated with your Apple ID. It syncs silently across your devices and persists if you reinstall the app. It is governed by Apple's iCloud privacy policy.
Stored locally on your device only:
Active timer session – temporary data about a currently running timer, deleted when the session ends
Onboarding status – whether you have completed the intro screens
Notification reminder tracking – to avoid showing reminders too frequently
Local data is deleted when you uninstall the app.
Motion Sensors
Radical Timer uses your device's accelerometer and gyroscope to detect phone movement during active timer sessions. This sensor data is:
Processed entirely on-device in real time
Never recorded, stored, or transmitted
Used only to determine whether the phone has been moved
Discarded immediately after each check
No motion permission dialog will appear — Apple does not require user permission for accelerometer and gyroscope access.
Notifications
If you grant permission, Radical Timer sends local notifications to alert you when a timer session completes. These notifications are:
Generated entirely on your device
Not connected to any external server
Not used for marketing or advertising purposes
You can revoke notification permission at any time in your iPhone Settings.
Third-Party Services
Radical Timer does not use any third-party SDKs, analytics tools, advertising networks, or crash reporting services. There are no trackers of any kind in the app.
Children's Privacy
Radical Timer does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no data is collected at all, the app is safe for use by all ages.
Changes to This Policy
If this Privacy Policy changes in the future, the updated version will be published at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

By downloading, installing, or using Radical Timer, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
About the App
Radical Timer is a productivity tool designed to help users stay focused by monitoring device movement during timed sessions. The App is provided by Andrii Lytovchenko, an independent designer & developer based in Ukraine.
Free Trial and Purchase
Radical Timer offers a 7-day free trial with full access to all features. After the trial period ends, a one-time purchase of $2.99 is required to continue using the app.
The trial begins on the date of first launch
All features are fully available during the trial period
No payment is required to start the trial
After 7 days, the app will prompt you to purchase
The one-time purchase unlocks the app permanently with no recurring charges
You may purchase at any time during the trial via the Settings screen
Purchases are processed by Apple and subject to Apple's payment terms
To restore a previous purchase on a new device, use the "Restore Purchase" option
All purchases are final. Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their standard refund policy.
License to Use
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Focus Timer on any Apple device you own or control, subject to these Terms and the Apple App Store Terms of Service.
You may not:
Copy, modify, or distribute the App or its content
Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code
Use the App for any unlawful purpose
How the App Works
Radical Timer uses your device's motion sensors to detect movement during active sessions. The App will cancel a timer if significant device movement is detected. By using the App, you understand and accept that:
The App may cancel your session if the phone is picked up or moved beyond the detection threshold
Timer behavior depends on iOS background execution, which is subject to Apple's limitations
Timers are limited to a maximum of 4 hours per session
The App cannot guarantee uninterrupted background execution in all conditions
Results may vary depending on device model, iOS version, and system state
Karma System
Radical Timer includes a Karma system that tracks focus discipline over time. By using the App, you understand and accept that:
Every user starts with 10 karma points
Karma points are lost when a timer is cancelled, failed, or interrupted after the grace period ends
Karma points are gained by completing focus sessions of 1 hour or longer
Reaching 0 karma points restricts timer duration to 1 hour until karma is restored
The Karma system is always active and cannot be disabled
Karma data is stored in iCloud and persists across reinstalls and devices
Note: The term "Karma" is used purely as a gamification and motivational concept within this app. It has no religious, spiritual, or philosophical meaning or affiliation of any kind. It is not intended to reference, represent, or promote any belief system, religion, or cultural tradition.
No Warranty
Radical Timer is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. The developer does not warrant that:
The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or bug-free
The motion detection will be 100% accurate in all conditions
The App will meet your specific expectations or requirements
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Andrii Lytovchenko shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. This includes but is not limited to loss of productivity, missed deadlines, or any other outcome related to timer cancellations or failures.
Parental Control Feature
The parental control emoji feature is provided as a simple verification tool and is not a substitute for proper parental supervision. The developer makes no guarantees about its effectiveness as a parental monitoring solution.
Updates and Changes
The developer reserves the right to:
Update, modify, or discontinue the App at any time
Change these Terms of Service with reasonable notice
Push updates via the App Store that change functionality
Continued use of the App after changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine. Any disputes arising from use of the App shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Ukraine.
Apple's Role
Radical Timer is distributed via the Apple App Store. Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for the App.
In accordance with Apple's requirements, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and Apple has the right to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
